Why does gasless flux core wire require DCEN (straight polarity) rather than DCEP?

Self-shielded flux-cored wire (FCAW-S) is formulated to operate on Direct Current Electrode Negative (DCEN) polarity. In DCEN, the electrons flow from the welding gun to the workpiece, placing about 70% of the heat at the electrode end. This high concentrated heat is necessary to melt the complex internal powder core, vaporizing the deoxidizers and gas shield components effectively. Running DCEN minimizes spatter and improves bead appearance on carbon steel.

What is the difference between AWS E71T-GS and AWS E71T-11 classifications?

E71T-GS is limited to single-pass applications. The alloy elements and deoxidizers in a GS wire are designed to burn off rapidly on thin sheet metals. Multipass welding with E71T-GS can lead to excessive accumulation of Aluminum in the weld metal, causing embrittlement and possible cracking. E71T-11, however, contains balanced alloy levels suitable for multi-pass welds, making it ideal for structural fabrications up to 3/4 inch thickness.

How does Wulian Yuxin ensure protection against humidity and wire oxidation?

Flux core wires are hollow, which makes them susceptible to internal moisture absorption if exposed to air. We use precision induction drying processes on our core fill, and immediately seal the finished spools in hermetically vacuum-packed aluminum foil wraps with silica gel desiccant packs. This setup maintains a low hydrogen level (H8 or lower) and extends the shelf life to over two years under standard warehouse conditions.
